Join City Segway Tours on the very first Lincoln Assassination Segway Tour of Washington, DC! The Lincoln Assassination Segway Tour will take you through the pages of history and into modern DC to track the events of that fateful night in April, 1865. It was a night that changed the history of our country as the nation's 16th President became the first to ever be assassinated.

On April 14th, 1865, Lincoln was at the height of his popularity. A four year war that cost the country thousands of lives and threatened to dissolve the United States had ended just days before. A victorious Lincoln attended a local theater performance to celebrate; however, renowned actor and Confederate supporter, John Wilkes Booth had other plans for the President. Our Lincoln Assassination tour will walk you through his three pronged attack designed to reignite the Civil War and send the country into turmoil. Your guide will recount Booth's plans as they evolved from kidnapping the President to cold blooded murder. The group will pass the scene of an attack on the Secretary of State, occurring the same night, and will pass all the houses, hotels, theaters, and restaurants most important to Booth’s murderous plot. Lastly, you will see firsthand the scene of the crime, Ford’s Theater, and follow Booth’s escape from the city. The Lincoln Assassination Segway Tour will bring America’s most famous crime to life in the heart of Washington, DC.

Highlight of our trip

This was definitely the highlight of our visitor's trip and ours also even though we live locally. In fact they (our visitor's) were still talking about it today on the way to the airport for their long flight back home to Australia! Matt is an exceptional tour guide, a most congenial and affable fellow. The combination of experiencing the fun of a Segway, the great sites of DC, Matt's personality and commentary truly makes the trip an awesome experience. We are undoubtedly recommending this to all of our friends - citizens and foreigners alike.
