What is a Segway? Was ist ein Segway?

The Segway Human Transporter is the first of its kind-a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body’s movements, “sensing” when it should speed up and slow down.

You stand on a small platform between left and right wheels as you hold onto handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing for you, so that you’re always upright as you glide through any environment. City Segway Tours uses the new i2 machines!

Der Segway Human Transporter ist der erste seiner Art - ein selbstbalancierender Personentransporter, der einen überall hinbringt. Das Gerät ist außerdem sehr einfach im Umgang. Der 2-rädrige Segway beschleunigt durch Gewichtsverlagerung nach vorne und bremst, wenn man sich nach hinten lehnt.
Man steht auf einer kleinen Plattform zwischen den Rädern und hält sich an der Lenkung fest. Der Segway übernimmt die Balancehaltung für Sie, sodass Sie immer gerade stehen und durch die Gegend “gleiten”.

Is there a weight limit for the tour? Gibt es eine Gewichtsobergrenze für die Segways?

There is a recommended limit of 265 lbs. and we ask our guests to be within a reasonable range of this limit.

How far in advance do I need to reserve? Wie früh muss man reservieren?

We suggest you either book online, or call our office at +43.1.729.72.34. We don’t want to fill our tour and miss showing you around.

Falls Sie erst am Morgen Ihres gewünschten Termins anrufen, dann kann es durchaus sein, dass wir nichts mehr frei haben, deshalb empfehlen wir mindestens zwei Tage im Voraus zu reservieren. Sie können die Tickets online oder in unserem Büro buchen. (Tel.: + 43 1 729 72 34).

Are the tours cancelled in case of rain? Werden die Touren bei Regen abgesagt?

No, our tours run rain or shine. We have ponchos available for anyone that needs them in our office.

Nein, unsere Touren finden auch bei Regen statt. Wir bieten Ihnen zum Schutz vor Nässe Regenponchos an, den Segways selbst macht Regen nichts aus.

Do we go inside the museums and monuments? Sieht man sich die Museen und Bauwerke auch von innen an?

We do not enter the museums and monuments since the Segways are so much fun! We will give you a great orientation however, and you’ll know exactly where you want to go after the tour.

Can I rent a Segway without a guide? Kann man einen Segway auch ohne Guide mieten?

Unfortunately, we do not rent our Segways out to individuals without a guide. Since our tours are virtually always full, we need all machines for our tour customers.

Are the Segways safe for children or people with disabilities? Sind Segways sicher für Kinder und Menschen mit Behinderungen?

Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to do and learn, we do require that all riders be at least 12 years of age.

Each of our tours begin with a 30-minute orientation session. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable.
