What is a Segway?
The Segway Human Transporter is the first of its kind-a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body’s movements, “sensing” when it should speed up and slow down.
You stand on a small platform between left and right wheels as you hold onto handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing for you, so that you’re always upright as you glide through any environment. City Segway Tours uses the new i2 machines!

How far in advance do I need to reserve?
These tours fill to capacity on a regular basis, and for this reason we suggest you either book online, or call us in our office. We don’t want to fill our tour and miss showing you around. As a general rule, tours book up about a week in advance on summer weekends and a day or two in advance on weekdays. We will accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, however those spaces are very limited.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer 100% refunds on all tours if the reservation is cancelled more than 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled tour. We do not offer refunds for any reason once we are within 72 hours of the scheduled tour.

Are the tours cancelled in case of rain?
No, our tours run rain or shine. We have ponchos available for sale in our office and are happy to refund the price of the poncho if it’s unopened..
How many people will I be riding with?
We’re aiming for 8 riders or fewer per tour guide for each tour (under the city’s limit of 10 people per guide). Please note that parties of 10 people or larger will be split into two smaller groups if prior arrangements are not made with our office.
Do we go inside the museums and monuments?
We do not enter the museums and monuments since the Segways are so much fun! We will give you a great orientation however, and you’ll know exactly where you want to go after the tour.
Am I allowed to take pictures during the tour?
Absolutely, however, we do recommend that you ask your guide to take your pictures so you can focus on riding and balancing on your Segway.
Can I rent a Segway without a guide?
Unfortunately, we do not rent our Segways out to individuals without a guide.
Can I purchase a Segway from City Segway Tours?
We can help you get the coolest machine in the world. Please call us toll-free at 877-SEG-TOUR (877-734-8687) or send us an email here.
Are the Segways safe for children or people with disabilities?
Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to do and learn, we do require that all riders be at least 12 years of age. Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or authorized guardian. No unattended minor will be able to tour without an authorized guardian.
Each of our tours begins with a short safety video followed by time to practice in our training area across the street and instruction from your tour guide. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable.
Is there a weight limit for the tour?
There is a recommended limit of 260 lbs. and we ask our guests to be within a reasonable range of this limit.
Guides were the best
The tour guides were the best. It was great for all ages and I felt like they understood beginners & made it easy. Thank you!
