Have you ever wanted to just give the Segway a try? Have you already seen the main sights and simply want to enjoy your late afternoon? Then this is the perfect tour for you!
Our “mini” tour starts with a comprehensive introduction to the Segway to get you trained and comfortable riding one. From there your guide will take you for an enjoyable ride to several great sites before returning to the TV Tower.
While the focus of our All-In-One City Tour is to show you all the sights and give you a detailed explanation of the history of Berlin, our “Mini” Tour is all about a fun ride on the Segway, but still to get some history along the way. We have designed this tour to be a great compliment to our Classic Segway Tour as well as our All-in-One bike tour
Enjoy Riding a Segway!
Having fun riding the Segway is the name of the game on our "Mini" Afternoon Tour. Your guide will show you the ins and outs of the machine before you take to the sidewalks and tree-lined boulevard of Unter den Linden.
This is home to five of Berlin's most famous museums, notably the Pergamon Museum and the Egyptian Museum (now housed in the Neues Museum).
Berlin's most famous Synagogue stands as a tribute to the memories of the turbulent times under Nazi oppression. The Synagogue is situated just meters from where many of Berlin's Jews were collected before deportation.
Stolpersteine are the small memorials with a big past. Marking the former homes of people who where deported during the Nazi Era, these simple markers are a powerful way of making sure history is noticed where it happened, and individual people are not forgotten.
Tucked away in some of Berlin's most charming streets you will find the Sophienkirche. Hear stories of it's unique past and the stories of the neighborhood where it stands. The area is surrounded by reminders of the turbulence of the Second World War, and a symbol of Berlin's reinvention.
Each of our tours begins with a 30-minute orientation session in the plaza and park next to our office. We will practice on the Segways so that everyone feels comfortable and ready to go out and conquer Berlin. The Segway is appropriate for virtually anyone aged 15 and older, provided they possess a motor vehicle license. Minors under the age of 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or have an adult complete our insurance paperwork in advance of the tour. Unfortunately, anyone under the age of 15 and pregnant women will not be permitted to participate. Again, you must be at least 15 years of age to participate. IDs will be checked for those looking underage.
For insurance policy stipulations, we are required to take a EUR 200,- damage deposit per party to cover damages to the Segway. This deposit will be taken by credit card (Visa, MC, or Amex) or cash at the time of the tour and refunded afterwards provided no damage to the Segway has been sustained.
Additionally, City Segway Tours has a strict policy against alcohol consumption and Segway operation. Alcohol is forbidden on all Segway tours and any client suspected of drinking before or during a Segway tour will immediately forfeit their tour and no refund will be given.
Please also wear flat, comfortable footwear. Flip-flop sandals and high-heeled shoes are not safe while riding Segways.
Lastly, participants must weigh between 100 lbs (45 kgs) and 255 lbs (117kgs) to use the machine properly.

Competent and Witty Style
Regarding the Berlin City Tour undertaken last Friday 07/08/10, I have the following comments:
Thank you, thank you Marriette, for a wonderful tour of Berlin city And all the interesting details you imparted to us and a competent and witty style. This was one of the best tours I have ever taken and I have done a few. I have to say the use of the Segway was brilliant and kept me smiling all the time. The combination was nothing short of excellent and I totally recommend anyone visiting Berlin to take this tour. I will be back next year for another go!
